Goddess of The year - Rhiannon Rhiannon is a Welsh Goddess, she is also known as Epona, Macha, Rigatona and The Great Queen. She is a Mare Goddess as well as a Goddess of birds. She hails from the otherworld known as Anwynn and is often connected to the Fey.
Her stories are related in the ancient book of Celtic mythology known as The Mabinogin. The tale takles the reader through her courtship, during which she displays her intellectual prowess and ability to get exactly what she wants. Her Wedding tells us of her generosity. Later in her story, she meets with tragedy and suffers humiliation, which she bears with dignity and grace. She eventually overcomes her tragedy with triumph. The Mare Goddess is a very important figure in history, evidenced by the many statues of her that have been unearthed, as well as the amazing monument of the great White Chalk Horse carved into the side of a hill in Uffington. The horse culture advanced the people with the ability to travel farther, and their use in warfare as seen in the Goddesses aspect of Macha. In olden times the horse was used in agriculture and therefore was a bringer of abundance. Rhiannon is accompanied by magical birds that sing so sweetly that they lulled the living to sleep and could wake the dead to repeat their tales. She is wearing a dress of gold and riding a white mare ; while seeming to run at a normal pace, cannot be overtaken by the fastest horse. The trick to catching up with her is simple, merely ask her to stop, and she will tell you that you would have saved your horse the strain if you had asked her sooner.

I just came from seeing Avatar, and this is what I think the belief is.....The belief is that we are all interconnected. .. One with each other and one with our Mother Earth. What hurts one, hurts us all. What nourishes one, nourishes us all. We, as humans, do not have dominion over the ecosystem, we are part of it and what we do affects it. And as being part of it, we can interact with it... more than we do now. We can interact with all life; plant, animal, amoeba,foetus... we just have to tap into that universal energy which flows through all things. We have to see and understand.It is also about a belief in a Great Mother, one who looks after nature and the sentient beings as well... I'd say more, but I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't yet seen it.

Egypt time

Dear poplace ,
Mustapha of Chiswick and his wife would be grateful if you could advise me I am looking to go into business canvassing scientific illustrations based around the history of Egypt .
The objective is to raise money pounds for patentable market research, the aim is to have professional illustrators design the concepts for a portfolio of 50 exhibited designs which I will eventually present to marvel comics & Walt Disney, also the computer games industry.
The income gained will also be used travel to Egypt to have the concepts designed in the said country including copyright in Egypt,
However I need to develop an illustrated prototype which will be directed in this country 50 A3 illustrations including black and white sketches and finished art work before having the final ingredient in place by having a book prototype.
Alternatively as I am starting up a new business I will need as much help as possible with stationery and computer i.e. fax machine with view to obtaining a professional illustrator
To get the first series of illustrations off the ground.
Any sponsored advice would be hepful.
